By trade, I am a CIO. Several months back, I realized AI was taking over everything, so I decided to immerse myself. I don’t make this public knowledge for the masses, but I suffer from OCD/ADHD. What this has been for me is a super power for learning. When I say “immerse myself” you think about reading a book or article. I typically go in cycles of 3 years of 3-6 hours a day of being obsessed. I’m about 5 months in now, and have done some tremendous things.

The caveat about the learning is, it needs to interest me. Given my website name, you may realize I have a million interests. AI now just became my favorite interest of all time. I went for an undergrad in IT, but I wasn’t great with programming. I could hyper focus for short periods of time, but coding all day, every day, was no bueno for me. I did a good 20 years of scripting and automation with work. I also built my fraternity’s website in HTML in 1996, so I go back 30 years with website design.

With this, I wanted to learn this at the yoda level so I could help drive down costs at work. In reality, what this SHOULD do is allow me to build a lot of tools for our team and with this, also help us with growth to be able to build bots and agents as we need them. I work in the back office, so to speak, so none of what I’m talking about affects the forward facing side.

I have now spent a ton of my free time learning this, and I just built a news app that I think is going to break the world.

What I did build a fully automated news network. In a weekend.

What this does?

  • gets news of the world
  • summarizes it in a “just the news” fashion and tells left and right slants
  • At the bottom of the article, the reader can read more details in whatever news outlet suits them
  • has AI videos reading the news
  • Videos are on a non-stop loop. Old stories drop off, and new stories come online

This is fully automated. No employees.

Once this is fully going I will never think of this again and print money every month. That’s the plan.

(P.S. – a few of you had written to wonder where I have been. This has eaten all of my free time up, and now instead of ideas coming to paper like this, they are going into building things. While I had limitations on my coding, I spent a ton of years in cyber security and dealing with servers, script, and infrastructure. I also have an MBA and always am looking for side hustles.
